One Extricated at New Holland Rd & Rt 340

On Monday morning at 07:31 hrs Station 44, Rescue 42 (Gap), Ambulance 43-1 (Gordonville EMS) and Medic 9 were dispatched New Holland Rd and Rt 340 for a vehicle accident with entrapment. Upon arrival, Deputy 44 confirm one trapped in a car. Crews worked for less than 10 minutes to free the patient. The patient was then transported to a Lancaster hospital.

Engine Transfer to New Holland

At around 17:00 hrs Engine 441 was requested to transfer to Station 39- West due to 39 being out on a commercial building fire at Heritage Custom Cabinetry on Diller Ave in New Holland Borough. The crew had a quiet evening during the 5 hour stay.

First Due 2 Alarm Building Fire

On Monday morning at 00:10 hrs, the 1st alarm barn assignment was dispatched to 4020 Old Philadelphia Pike. LCWC advised responding units that there was multiple calls reporting a garage on fire close to a house. Due to the calls and responding units reporting smoke and fire showing from a few miles out, Chief 44 requested 2nd Alarm. Crews arrived and found the garage well off and the exterior of the house on fire. The fire was under control in less than an hour, and did not extend to the interior of the home.


 
   
   
Commercial Building Fire
Wednesday, February 8, 2012

On Wednesday morning at 10:36 hrs Station 44 along with mutual aid companies were dispatched to 4019 Old Philadelphia Pike at Glick's Woodworking for a building fire, Dispatch advised responding units that there was a sanding machine on fire inside the woodshop. Upon arrival, Chief 44 reported smoke in the building. The bulk of the fire was extinguished by employees who had used a fire extinguisher on the machine. Crews started overhaul, disassemble the duct-work for the dust collection system, emptied the dust bin and determined that the fire had not advanced into the dust collector. Station 44 went available at 11:36 hrs.


 
Vehicle Accident @ Rt. 772 & New Holland Rd

On Thursday eve at 17:11 hrs Station 44 along with Ambulance 432 were dispatched to East Newport Rd & New Holland Rd for a vehicle accident with injuries. Deputy 44 (Yoder) arrived and established command. EMS personnel on the scene reported multiple patients injured and command requested 2 medics and additional ambulances. Engine 441 crew assisted with patient care, stabilized and de-powered the vehicles. 3 patients were transported to a Lancaster hospital.

Station 44 Places New Engine In Service
Monday, November 14, 2011

On Monday evening, after the company meeting Station 44 placed into service the 2011 Pierce Impel PUC pumper, designated as Engine 441. Engine 441 will be the primary unit on our 1st due fires and vehicle accidents.

The '90 International/ E-One Engine will be designated as Engine 445 and will mainly be used as a support unit including, but not limited to, water supply, fill-sites, lighting, extra cribbing and oil dry, and will also be equipped for brush fires.
